Land administration is the operational component of resource management. It provides the institutional framework within which land use policies and plans can be implemented effectively. This paper examines the objectives of land administration and specifically reexamines the role of land registration in this context. Emphasis is given to the importance of information management in land administration and the potential role that modern land registration systems can play.
