Private land surveying in Norway

During the seventies, all map and land surveying in Norway came under the management of the Ministry of the Environment. The Ministry is now responsible for the primary network, mapping on land, along the coast, and on the continental shelf. In spite of this, private land surveying offices are a significant factor in Norwegian mapping and surveying activities. This article intends to outline who the private sector are and what their activities entain.
