Meridia and the SDGs

Meridia
Meridia was founded in 2015 (then called Landmapp) with the intent to provide affordable land documentation to the people who need it the most, families living off land in places like Ghana and Indonesia. These families are smallholder farmers, the very ones producing the worlds food, such as rice, coffee, cocoa, palm oil and tea. Not only do these farmers produce our food. They are also first in line to protect the worlds forests, as they often live in or around the rainforests that are critical for maintaining biodiversity and combatting climate change. With a land document in hand, these farmers can invest in the future of their land and their children. They are able to access formal credit for the first time. They are able to take a long term perspective on their land and livelihoods, shifting from living hand to mouth in insecurity, but now able to get a secured perspective on their future. Now, we have teams on the ground in East- & West Africa and Asia. We specialize in bringing together local communities, policy makers, food companies and NGO’s to put ideas into action. We understand the food industry and are experts in the nuances driving their value chains. We work with governments and traditional authorities to ensure strict compliance with regulation and practice. Meridia can deliver land mapping and land titling at scale, fast and with exceptionally accurate data. We are already in collaboration with a large number of global food companies, multilateral organisations and donors to provide affordable mapping and land titling at massive scale.
