How to increase rural land rights registration seven-fold in less than one year? : lessons from Madagascar

Andre Teyssier & Zo Ravelomanantsoa

Land reform measures launched in Madagascar since 2005 have significantly improved land management services for rural communities. By decentralizing land management, the new procedure to obtain a written proof of ownership costs 30 times less and is 12 times faster than the former land titling.
