Williamson, Ian P.
With abstracts in English, German and French.
Economic development and environmental management are often in conflict, particularly in developing countries. This paper examines two cadastral or parcel based land information system projects in Thailand as a case studies to show that the use of these systems can contribute positively to both objectives. The paper briefly describes the concept and the role of cadastral and parcel based land information systems, in both the urban and rural contexts, and relates such systems to these global objectives.
