Cooperation in land administration and geomatics in the Baltic Sea Region

At the first Ministerial Conference about 'Vision and strategies around the Baltic Sea 2010' in Karlskrona, Sweden in August, 1992 the Swedish Minister promised to explore the possibilities for concrete cooperation in the field of GIS between authorities in the Baltic Sea Region. A first preliminary report was presented to the second Conference of Ministers in Gdansk, Poland in December 1993. After submission and further discussions, the preliminary report and its recommendations have been developed into this report. The report concentrates on the demands of cooperation and support to transition countries in the Baltic Sea Region with the focus on land administration and geomatics. The situation today as well as ongoing and possible future cooperation and support is discussed. Recommendations are given based on available observations.
