Automation of land inventory in Israel

Buchler

In order to obtain detailed information on the nature of the data recorded by the Israel Lands Authority and other sources, and to ascertain its quality and precision, and for the purpose of setting up the mechanized data system, the Authority has decided to undertake a pilot study. The results of this study will also serve as a temporary information pool for the inventory of unoccupied land in the areas concerned for purposes of current activities. In order to assure data quality until the full data system is introduced, a temporary method for updating and storing the data is planned. The data collected in the course of the pilot study will be stored and displayed in three ways: graphically on maps, in magnetic tape banks, and in verbal descriptions.
